Trying new beauty brands is always something I look forward to. I’m a pamper junkie and I’m not afraid to admit that. Burt’s Bees is a brand of products that I have seen grow bigger and bigger over the years and although I’ve followed the brand from a distance, I have never tried any Burt’s Bees products.
The story of Burt’s Bees goes back to around thirty years ago. Burt the Beekeeper used to sell honey from the back of his truck until he met Roxanne Quimby. (Such a great name, don’t you think?) Burt and Roxanne hit it off and before long she was making candles with unused wax from Burt’s beehives. After the candles, they moved onto lip balms and to date, they now have over 180 products in the range, AMAZING!
Burt’s Bees products are 99% natural with over half of the products 100% natural. Burt’s Bees believes “you’re at your most beautiful when what you put on your body is from nature”.
These products have no petrochemicals, phthalates, parabens or sodium lauryl sulfate and are not tested on animals.
Now that we all know a little more about the brand, let’s move onto the two Burt’s Bees products I am reviewing for you guys today.
Burt’s Bees Products
Burt’s Bees Hand Salve
Of course, this product is made from the famous Burt’s Beeswax. As well as botanical oils, herbs, sunflower, rosemary and lavender. Having never used Beeswax based products before, I wasn’t sure what to expect. My main concern was this leaving a greasy film on my hands after use. To my surprise, this product doesn’t make my hands feel greasy at all.
It coats my hands with a silky vaseline like formula, which makes my skin feel like it has a protective layer on it, a little really does go a long way with this product! After applying you get a burst of lavender scent immediately which is gorgeous and very luxurious.
I have found myself reaching for this product in the evenings, after using my hands all day at work and them feeling a little dry. It is a real treat to take five minutes massaging this into your hands. We really don’t realise how much tension we hold in our hands. So I’d highly recommend using this product in that way as it is pure bliss.
If you like the sound of this product you can pop it in your Boots basket for £6.66. Like I mentioned previously. A little goes a long way so I know this Burt’s Bees Hand Salve will last a long while.
Burt’s Bees Coconut Foot Cream
As summer approaches, we all have that awkward moment of realising we have neglected our feet all winter and now it’s sandal season, PANIC!! I have religiously moisturised my feet for years, because I hate the thought of having dry heels. Remembering to do this every night is a chore and all of the products I have been using are normal body lotions, nothing actually designed for the feet.
After using this foot cream for a week or two, I have noticed a big difference in my heels especially. Moisturised heels are going to be a big thing for summer 2018, I’m telling you! Jokes aside, this Burt’s Bees Coconut Foot Cream has done a brilliant job at keeping my feet hydrated. I have been using this as an overnight treatment which is recommended and works perfectly. Rosemary and peppermint extracts create a wonderful fresh scent, for the ultimate pampered feeling.
The foot cream is similar to the hand salve when it comes to the luxurious feeling. I love the formula, the ingredients and the coconut scent is gorgeous too. Also, I haven’t mentioned how much I like the Burt’s Bees products packaging. The orangey/yellow vibes are perfect for summer and the overall design is what makes me notice and recognise Burt’s Bees whilst out shopping. This product is available from Boots for £7.99.
After using these fabulous Burt’s Bees products, I am definitely keen to try more in the future. At the moment, I have got my eyes on the lips balms as they have been recommended so much by friends and fellow bloggers!
If you have enjoyed reading something a little different to my usual content, as this is more body products than general skin care.
