Another day, another eyeshadow palette. I know what you’re thinking, I said I wasn’t going to buy anymore but oops, I did it again! Can you blame me? Just look at those incredible, vibrant shades. The Revolution Pro Regeneration Mischief Matte Eyeshadow Palette needed to join the family and I have no regrets!
As I strolled into Superdrug I headed straight for the Revolution Makeup counter, standard procedure! I had been itching to pick up a palette with some bright summer shades. You guys know I’m a huge lover of warm tones, bronzes, golds and burnt oranges. But I was ready to step out of my comfort zone and experiment with more adventurous eyeshadow shades. Now, lets set the record straight, I don’t really believe in love at first sight, I think you fall in love over time and that love is something that slowly blossoms. When it comes to makeup, throw all of that out of the window, I saw this Regeneration Mischief Matte Eyeshadow Palette and fell in love straight away, truly, madly, deeply.
For a few minutes, I had the angel and devil on my shoulder. Whispering in my ear about why I can’t possibly buy another eyeshadow palette and how I desperately need this one and how it is SO different from the rest. As you’ve probably guessed, the little red devil won again! In his defence, I do not own another eyeshadow palette like this at all. Plus, this was my first EVER Revolution Makeup eyeshadow palette, madness right?!
Let’s talk about pigments, shades, prices, swatches and everything in between…
If you’re like me and always play it safe with your eyeshadow, then I would say this is the perfect palette for you. 1. Because it will force you to experiment and come out of your comfort zone and 2. It is only £8.00, so if you really didn’t enjoy playing with brighter shades, you haven’t broken the bank! £8.00 for an eyeshadow palette with 15 shades is absolutely insane. If I didn’t know anything about the brand already, I would assume the quality would be poor. Thankfully, Revolution Makeup is the best budget brand I have ever tried so before my purchase, I knew it would live up to my high expectations.
The pigment of the shades is really beautiful, although some shades more pigmented than others, with a little extra on your brush the shades build up perfectly. Also worth mentioning is that the consistency is rather powdery, which some people don’t like but a little ‘fall out’ doesn’t bother me at all. My favourite palettes are the Anastasia Beverly Hills palettes which have extreme fall out and cost around £50! So this really isn’t an issue for me with a £8.00 eyeshadow palette.
Time to reveal the all-important swatches…
SAINT |ATTACHED| NEW DAY
Saint is a beautiful soft white shade. This is perfect to use as your base before adding the rest of the shades you choose. Attached is a light nude which as you can see, is basically the same shade as my skin tone. This works great for me as a transition shade. New Day is a gorgeous creamy yellow, not as pigmented as some of the other shades but very buildable to create a brighter and more vibrant yellow.
DAYDREAM |HALF TIME| BELIEVER
Daydreamer is one of my favourite shades, I love the way orange shades look on my eyes and the pigment is stunning! Half Time is a lovely warm red which pairs beautifully with Daydreamer. I haven’t used Believer very much, I’m hoping to use it more when I get my autumnal wardrobe back out. I think it will look fab with some Khaki knitwear!
RINGLEADER |FEARLESS| SHRINE
All three shades compliment each other so much! Ringleader was the first shade in the palette I used and the one I reach for most often. Shrine is a beautiful purple which creates a soft purple look without being too smoky.
INDICATION |CRUSADE| POISON
I used Indication last week as a smoky eyeliner and I had so many compliments. That is something else I have been experimenting lately. Creating a messy eyeliner with eyeshadow and using a blending brush to smoke it out. I think it looks brilliant! Crusade is a gorgeous bright blue and Poison is a deep emerald green which is another of my faves!
UPPERHAND |UNDERDOG| RICOCHET
Another three shades with incredible pigment. This trio blends together beautifully to create a deep pink eyeshadow look. Can I say all the shades are my faves? Because I’m obsessed with all three of these as well! Deep pink makes the boys wink haha.
EXCLUSIVE |HAUNTED| CURSED
The last three shades of the Revolution Pro – Regeneration Mischief Matte Eyeshadow Palette. Haunted and Cursed are much darker shades in the palette. These swatches are just one swipe so, like a few of the other previous shades, they are very buildable and can be applied much darker for a sexy, smoky eye.
After seeing all of those stunning swatches, I know you guys will be on my side now! This Revolution Pro Regeneration Mischief Matte Eyeshadow Palette is literally summer in a palette. You have everything you need here! I also think it is a fab palette for autumn as well with the oranges, the deep emerald and the smoky purples.
To finalise, I just wanted to say how amazing I think Revolution is as a makeup brand. They have created such an affordable high-quality range of makeup. An eyeshadow palette with 15 stunning shades for only £8 is crazy!! If you guys would like to buy this palette online you can shop here on the Revolution website or here on Superdrug.
