Makeup Revolution Foundation Conceal and Define

Makeup Revolution Foundation – Conceal and Define Review

I have been wearing makeup since I was a teenager. It has always been something I have had a huge passion for. Even now, I get super excited to see new products on the market and to have a good experiment with them myself. At the beginning of the year, I picked up the brand new and hugely popular Makeup Revolution Conceal and Define Concealer. I was completely blown away by it and I have used it practically every day since. So when I saw there was a launch for a Makeup Revolution foundation in the Conceal and Define version, I was uncontrollably excited!

The first foundation I ever had was the ‘Dream Matte Mousse’ by Maybelline. Most girls that are a similar age to me and also love makeup will know exactly what I’m talking about! I was obsessed with this foundation. I use to pack a ridiculous amount on my face and probably buy a new pot every weekend (madness!) Looking back on those years and the makeup I loved, I always think how excited I would have been back then to have had a brand like Makeup Revolution on the shelves. Super affordable, high-quality products. I think this brand is perfect for people just starting out in makeup, especially for younger girls who perhaps don’t have the budget to buy expensive makeup.

As you guys know, I always say the high price tag doesn’t always mean high quality! This Makeup Revolution foundation is a prime example of that, retailing at a fantastic price of £9 for a full coverage foundation. (Maybe that sentence was a small spoiler of my thoughts. You’ll have to carry on reading to find out hehe!)

First Impressions Of The Makeup Revolution Foundation…

Makeup Revolution Foundation Conceal and Define

My first impression naturally goes on the visual of the product, which I personally think is fab. The same branding as the concealer, which I already love as it is rose gold, my fave! I love the doe-foot applicator inside, although it does make it a little tricky to grab those last bits at the end of the bottle. I think the product is a good size, easy to keep clean in your makeup bag. (Does anyone else have to constantly clean their makeup?!) Having said all of that, the most important bit is what is on the inside.

It is what’s on the inside that counts…

The tricky part for me was ordering online, as I checked my local Superdrug and it wasn’t in store yet. So I did my usual trick of finding a blog or Youtube video where someone had swatched the shades and I guessed from there.  I did this with my concealer and it worked a treat! Incredibly, there are 24 shades of this Makeup Revolution foundation, so there really is something for everybody here.

It is amazing to see how Makeup Revolution have really mastered the undertones of yellow or pink in the different shades. As you guys probably know, some of us are more yellow based skin tones or pink based. Which makes a huge difference in which foundation shade is right for your skin.  There is a full list on the Revolution website under the foundation explaining the different undertones in the shades. After a little while, I completed my research and settled for shade F6.5. ‘F6.5 – For light skin tones with a yellow undertone’ As you can see from the swatch below it looks a little light for me, but actually, it is the perfect shade, my face is naturally slightly lighter than my body anyway.

Makeup Revolution Foundation Conceal and Define

After the first application of the Makeup Revolution foundation, it was love at first sight. It was just how I felt about the Conceal and Define concealer the first time I used that. Considering it is such a full coverage foundation, it blends beautifully. It is recommended to use a brush or beauty blender for a flawless finish. I found one coat on my skin was enough but I could tell it was easily buildable if you needed any extra coverage. It also pairs beautifully with the Conceal and Define Concealer. (Fun fact – on average one of these concealers is sold every five seconds!!) I use the Makeup Revolution Bake and Finish Powder to set any areas I need to in place and I always use the Makeup Revolution Fix Oil Control Makeup Fixing Spray to finish.

Overall, I would say I am really impressed with the Makeup Revolution foundation. It 100% lived up to its expectations for me. I would definitely say this is one of the best drugstore foundations I have tried. I am so happy to see such a wide range of shades to suit all different skin tones. If you guys can’t get your shade in store or it isn’t stocked in your local Superdrug yet, I think it is a fab idea to find your closes swatch online and grab yourself a bottle from the Makeup Revolution website.

Another full coverage foundation on the market but it my eyes, this one really stands out from the crowd. I am excited to see what Makeup Revolution has up their sleeve for the future. Will it be bigger and better than this?!

I’d love you guys to let me know your thoughts on the Makeup Revolution foundation. Have you tried it? If so, do you love it? Or maybe you are going to get yourself one after reading this. Let’s chat in the comments and share our love for this amazing full coverage Conceal and Define foundation!
