Glossier Review – Skin Essentials Phase 1 Set

Climbing into bed after I have completed my night time skincare routine is one of my favourite things ever. Skincare will always be a huge passion of mine and making sure my routine is full of beautiful, effective products is really important to me. Therefore, I’m always looking to improve it. Adding new products and spicing things up. I recently made my first ever Glossier purchase! Whenever I discover something new, I have to share my experience with my lovelies. I picked up the Skin Essentials Phase 1 Set. After a few weeks of introducing these products to my skin, I decided it is time to put together my Glossier review.

Glossier Review

Glossier has been around for a good four years now. If you haven’t seen it before, girl, where have you been?! Emily Weiss (you probably know her from her incredible blog Into The Gloss) is the founder of Glossier. In October 2014, Emily announced the first four skincare products on her blog to the world. The Priming Moisturiser and Balm Dotcom are two of the originals that are featured in this Skin Essentials Phase 1 Set Glossier review.

“I don’t think Glossier should be one of these brands that’s untouchable and about glamour and aspiration, but you can’t get there. Everyone can be a Glossier girl. It’s about a certain spirit and independence and freedom and being a little silly.” – Emily Weiss

Glossier Review Skin Essentials Phase 1 Set

Where dewy, hydrated skin begins.

First things first, let’s talk about the gorgeous packaging. The light pink against the white, simple but pretty. The clear/basic fonts make everything so easy to read. If you shop with your eyes, you’ll already be sold! Glossier finally launched in the UK this year, so we can get our hands on these stunning products. Let’s all cross our fingers and hope for a store in the UK in the coming years because I’m 100% sure it would be the most Instagrammable place!

Three beautiful products are in the Phase 1 Set. The Milk Jelly Cleanser, Priming Moisturiser, and Balm Dotcom. All of the Glossier deliveries arrive in a cute pink bubble wrap pouch. Which is amazing for a little makeup/toiletries bag. Oh, a little birdie told me that you can also use this for your liquids in your hand luggage when you’re travelling at the airport! For all three products, it is just £35, saving you £8 buying the trio rather than buying the individual products. With free shipping over £25, it really is a good price.

Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser

One face wash to rule them all.

A beautiful creamy gel formula to wash away makeup, dirt and oils. This cleanser is made up of five skin conditioners meaning your skin is left feeling soft and healthy but doesn’t give you that tight, dry feeling after cleansing. Also perfect for cleansing over your eyes as it has powerful ingredients which are used in contact lens solution. Super safe for the eyes but tough on impurities.

I love using this product in the morning on my fresh skin and also in the evening when I have a full face of makeup on. It removes all of my makeup perfectly but I always go in with a second cleanse. Making sure my bare skin is cleansed thoroughly. This cleanser was the winner of the Best of Beauty Allure 2017 Awards so it had to be included in my Glossier review! Full size -177ml for £15 or a mini size – 60ml for £8.

Glossier Priming Moisturiser

Light and buildable moisture for a dewy, smooth canvas.

As I mentioned in my last blog post What Is The Best Primer For Combination Skin? priming is the most important part of your makeup routine. This Glossier primer creates a smooth, dewy canvas ready for makeup. This primer minimises the appearance of pores and soothes redness with anti-redness complexes. A great size product 50ml for just £18, it is definitely one of my favourites from the trio. This gorgeous cream layers easily and builds up to the perfect amount of moisture depending on climate, season, or how your skin’s feeling on the day. For the last few weeks, I have been using this every morning and have seen such a huge difference when applying my makeup.

Glossier Balm Dotcom

Our cult favourite do-everything skin salve.

A 2-in-1 product, at first I thought this was just a lip balm but it is actually a skin salve. Meaning it can be used on lots of different areas of the body. The packaging says to use on ‘anywhere that needs some love’. For example, lips, dry elbows, cuticles, basically anywhere with dry, chafed skin. I love using this on my lips, it reminds me of the Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream. Extremely hydrating, long-lasting, and beautifully nourishing. This balm is available in 6 gorgeous flavours.

  • Original – fragrance-free, un-tinted.
  • Rose – translucent pink tint (I have this one).
  • Birthday – un-tinted with a subtle shimmer.
  • Cherry – sheer red tint.
  • Minted – un-tinted with a cool, fresh feeling.
  • Coconut – un-tinted and beachy!

Another lovely product with cute packaging, easy to dispense in comparison to lip balms in a pot! A super reasonable price of £10 for a multi-purpose product. I can’t decide which one of this trio are my favourite in this Glossier review.

Lots of you guys on my Twitter and Instagram have told me to pick up Boy Brow from the Glossier makeup collection, so I think another order may be on the cards haha! Also, let me know if you have used any of the makeup and what you think I should try. Or maybe there are some other products from the skincare range you love? Leave all of your thoughts in the comments and as always I will get back to you! Have a lovely week everyone.

Lots of Love…
