We have good days and bad days, ups and downs, a complete whirlwind of love and hate. Yes, that’s right, I’m talking about me and my hair. Believe it or not. It probably sounds a little dramatic but it is true. Recently, I decided it was time to have the chop. Goodbye split ends, limp thin hair and years of trying SO hard to have long luscious locks. The time had come to stop holding onto the length and start taking really good care of my hair. As well as those sharp scissors, I have been transforming my hair with some beautiful L’Oreal hair products too.
Let me take you back to the start, I want you to have all the gossip so you really understand my hair journey!
Ever since I was a little girl…
I always dreamed of beautifully long, thick, Rapunzel hair. I wanted to be a Disney princess! *still wishes now* Unfortunately, I wasn’t blessed with princess genes and I got lumbered with hair that snaps very easily. It grows to a certain length and pretty much stops and also is unbelievably fine.
For years I tried to style it out, at one point I even had microband hair extensions! I just wanted that super thick look. I never felt 100% happy with my hair. Blow drying it the same as the hairdressers was a myth, nothing was hiding the fact that after my shoulders, it was limp, lifeless and feeling pretty sorry for itself.
Scrolling through beautiful haircuts with a cup of tea one morning, I pondered the idea of short hair for around thirty seconds. I immediately stopped while having a mini FREAK OUT. After numerous cookies and the second cup of tea, I started warming to the idea of the chop. I was at a time in my life where I needed something crazy to happen. (this is about as wild as I get). Long story short, I went through with it, I’d say overall I had a good 6/8 inches off my hair which was a big deal for me. Bizarrely, it was the most liberating feeling and I felt on top of the world.
Introducing L’Oreal Hair Products To My Routine…
The transformation wasn’t quite complete there though. The bouncy, glossy blow-dry soon fades and then you are left with crazy Hagrid hair after that first wash! Now it was time to welcome some badass L’Oreal hair products to help me with my transformation and on my journey to hair, I could finally be happy with.
L’Oreal Elvive Fibrology Thickening Shampoo and Conditioner
I first heard about the L’Oreal Elvive Fibrology thickening shampoo and conditioner from a few fellow bloggers. It seemed to be the new duo on the market for fabulous hair. Advertised to give thicker hair wash after wash, specially designed with Filloxane in the ingredients. Which thickens the hair fibres and provides deep cleansing.
After just a few washes, my hair felt thicker and seemed to have more volume, it is definitely one to use a couple of times. Don’t be expecting miracles after just one wash girlies! Good things take time. The scent of this duo is gorgeous, I love curling up into bed and being able to smell the beautiful fragrance pouring from my hair. I have used this shampoo ever since I set eyes on it and I would 100% recommend this for anyone wanting to add some thickness to their locks!
You can grab the shampoo and conditioner half price on the Boots Website. Don’t forget you should always be switching up your shampoos. Read all about why it is important in my Changing Shampoo For Healthier Looking Hair blog post.
L’Oreal Elvive Dream Lengths No Haircut Cream
Next up from my L’Oreal hair products is the L’Oreal Elvive Dream Lengths No Haircut Cream which retails for only £3.99 from Boots. This little bottle of goodness is AMAZING! It is so conditioning and makes your hair feel incredible because it is packed with Keratin, Vitamins and Castor Oil. It helps to reduce the appearance of split ends and reduce breakage from brushing your hair etc. I use this before I put any heat on my hair to create a protective barrier. It is also lovely to use as a mask on your ends before conditioning your hair.
L’Oreal Elvive Clay Oily Roots Pre Shampoo Mask
This mask is ideal for anyone suffering from oily roots. Greasy hair is caused by excess oil build up on your scalp. It instantly absorbs oil and impurities, deeply cleansing your roots, soaking up that oil. Use before shampooing and massage the clay into your scalp. Leave for 5 minutes and rinse until the water runs clear.
This product is ideal for me, although my hair is fine, it does get greasy quickly and I find this mask soaks up the oil perfectly, without leaving my scalp dry or dehydrated. A tub only costs £3.99 and the product inside lasts for ages! I would recommend using once or twice a week, depending on your needs. You can grab all of these L’Oreal hair products from Boots or Superdrug.
P.s how gorgeous is all the packaging?!
These four L’Oreal hair products have completely transformed the way I feel about my hair. The shampoo and conditioner are perfect for boosting volume and thickness. The Dream Lengths cream treats my split ends and gives me extra protection when I’m blow drying or using straighteners. Finally, the clay mask soaks up any nasty grease that makes my hair feel heavy and lacklustre. It is amazing how a few affordable products can make you feel so confident about something you once felt unhappy about! Do any of you ever feel like your hair is a nightmare?! I would definitely have a play with these L’Oreal products if you have any issues similar to mine. I have used so many hair products over the years so feel free to ask me any questions in the comments and I’ll give you my best advice.
Lots of Love…
