SKINCARE - WHAT'S NEW

The New & Improved Dermalogica Skin Smoothing Cream

I’ve been using Dermalogica Skin Smoothing Cream on and off for around six years. I was first introduced to it when I started my Skin Specialist training which feels like forever ago now! I’ve had a few breaks in between whilst introducing my skin to new products and mixing things up. But I always seem to come back to this one. Although my skin has changed over the years. This moisturiser has never failed me. I would say the original was my ‘Holy Grail’ moisturiser. Amazing for hydrating my skin and giving it a well-needed boost of radiance.

On the 1st of November, Dermalogica launched their new and improved version of Skin Smoothing Cream. When I received the sneak peek email, I sat there thinking, ‘Can it really get any better?!’…

“This product has long been our number 1 moisturiser, but with increasing environmental triggers, the world around us has evolved since it’s creation – so we evolved its formula!” – Dermalogica UK.

Dermalogica Skin Smoothing Cream

This is one of the many, many, things that I love about Dermalogica. Although they have absolutely fantastic products that I would never imagine need changing. They still continue to research ingredients, environmental changes, lifestyle changes etc. They don’t leave a product on the shelf getting dusty because they think it can’t improve. Revamping the formula of one of your best selling moisturiser could either turn out incredible or people may prefer the old formula. It is a risk but the confidence they have in their products and the passion behind each decision gives you 100% trust in them.

As I previously said, I was already in love with Dermlogica Skin Smoothing Cream so I was super excited to hear all about the changes and finally get my hands on it. I was lucky enough to be gifted the moisturiser by the team. Over the last few weeks, I’ve been using it every day! First up let me tell you all the new improvements, then I will tell you my honest opinion!

Dermalogica Skin Smoothing Cream with Active Hydramesh Technology

The NEW Dermalolgica skin smoothing cream maintains the original weight & texture of the old formula. But now it keeps your skin hydrated for 48 hours using state-of-the-art HydraMesh technology.

According to research, your skin can lose up to half a litre of water in just one day! So to rehydrate our skin, we need to drink plenty of water but we can also help with our skincare products. The new Dermalogica Skin Smoothing cream has a unique complex which creates a mesh-like structure on the surface of the skin, which prevents water loss. Once applied, this moisturiser gradually releases powerful ingredients. Overall, this leaves you with visibly smooth, healthier looking skin.

In my opinion…

I honestly loved the original Dermlaogica Skin Smoothing Cream. It gave my skin everything it needed. Or so I thought…

First impressions, the formula felt the same to me which I was pleased about because it is so lightweight and feels beautiful when massaged into your skin. The scent was familiar and pleasant as always. Dermalogica products always smell so amazing without any nasty fragrance which could irritate your skin. The packaging is still great with the addition of the HydraMesh technology shout out! I didn’t notice any huge difference when applying as the final step to my skincare routine like I always have. After using it for around two weeks, I can say I have gradually been noticing a huge difference. Sometimes I think your skin can get used to using the same products with the same ingredients so it is fab to introduce something new.

Dermalogica Skin Smoothing Cream

My skin looks even more radiant, I have without a doubt noticed more hydration. Which is amazing because I do get very dehydrated in the winter months. Another absolutely fantastic improvement I have seen is the size of my pores. When we are dehydrated our pore size appears large. Kind of like an orange peel. As we rehydrate the skin, the size of these pores will appear smaller (although they will never completely disappear). The new Dermalogica Skin Smoothing Cream has completely wowed me, which is a huge deal! As someone who loved the original and was slightly concerned about the change. I am so happy it has some of the old traits mixed in with some incredible technology and new exciting ingredients.

I’m a huge skincare geek so it was so fun learning all about HydraMesh technology! I hope you guys all learnt something and enjoyed reading about the new and improved Dermalogica Skin Smoothing Cream. Have you tried it before? Maybe you are ready for a newbie in your skincare cupboard! I couldn’t recommend this more. If you’d like to learn about some other Dermalogica products I have a full review of the new Rapid Reveal Peel. An at-home grade chemical peel! Until next time…

Lots of Love…

Love Dermalogica products, but I’ve never used this cream. I think it’s a good idea when brands change and evolve a product it means that they are constantly trying to better their products. Great Post!
